a modern + fun superhero 3rd birthday party

my son is THREE!!! how is that possible? he is at such a fun age and is really into superheroes, so that's the theme he wanted for his birthday party! sealed in a bright yellow envelope, the invitations set the tone for the party with superhero sayings and lightning bolts replicated from the party plates! 

the kids [and adults] got to wear masks & capes during the party and was even part of the favor bag. it was hilarious watching all the kids do multiple outfit changes with the colors!

one of my favorite parts of the decor was the large custom poster i designed to look like a newspaper! we had taken his photo in a superhero outfit he got for christmas and wrote a fake story about cohen saving the city!

the gorgeous and most delicious cakes were made by my amazingly talented friend, kendall! we had two - nutella & chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and a gingerbread cake with cream cheese frosting!
